Doma support

1. Both of you install Doma and make sure you are signed in to iCloud on your iPhone.
2. One of you opens Doma and taps Create our home. Doma shows an invitation QR code.
3. The other opens Doma, taps Scan invitation, then Open camera, and points it at that code.

That is the whole setup. There is no account, phone number or email to enter. An invitation is valid for 10 minutes; if it expires, the partner who created the home can show a fresh one from the shield icon at the top of the chat. The QR code carries the key that encrypts your conversation, so only show it to your partner.

Yes. The partner who created the home takes a screenshot of the QR code and sends it privately. The other partner taps Scan invitation, then Choose QR code from library, picks the screenshot and taps Connect this iPhone. Do it within 10 minutes, while the invitation is still valid.

Because the code contains the conversation key, send it only through a channel you trust, and delete the screenshot from both phones (and from Recently Deleted) once you are paired.

Either partner can disconnect at any time: tap the shield icon at the top of the chat, then Disconnect this iPhone. If you created the home, disconnecting stops sharing it and your partner loses access. If you joined, disconnecting removes you from the conversation. To connect again, create a new home and pair with a new QR code.

The encrypted conversation stays in the iCloud of the partner who created the home until it is deleted there. To remove it: Settings, tap your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage, Doma. More in the privacy policy.

To keep updating your position while Doma is in the background, iOS needs location access set to Always. Open Settings, Doma, Location and choose Always. If it is set to While Using the App, you can still send your location once, but live sharing pauses when you leave Doma.

Doma only uses background location while you are actively sharing, and live sharing ends automatically after one hour at the latest.

On purpose. Notifications only say "New message in Doma", so nothing private appears on your lock screen or on a paired watch. Open Doma to read the message.

If you get no notifications at all, check Settings, Notifications, Doma and make sure Allow Notifications is on, and that a Focus mode is not silencing Doma.

Delivered and read ticks only work when both of you are on the latest version of Doma. Update the app on both iPhones from the App Store, then open Doma on both. Ticks for new messages should appear right away.

No. Content is encrypted on your iPhone with a key that only exists on your two phones and in the pairing QR code, and it syncs through your own iCloud. We run no server for Doma and never receive your data. The privacy policy has the details.
